The original farm, locally known as the Christmas Ranch, was purchased in 2005 and the vision of a much needed “Big Rig” RV park was born. In 2008 the small tidy RV park became the Bear Den RV Resort.
Since then, this hidden gem, with the gorgeous prairie views, has been a continual work in progress. In 2018, Barney and Rocki Oldfield sold their commercial refrigeration business and purchased the RV park.
They added several new sites; repaired wells and irrigation systems; weeded and sprayed and fertilized; planted flowers and hung baskets; painted and decorated the clubhouse; upgraded and improved the reservation system; and finally, completely remodeled the dry bunkhouse cabins into charming one-bedroom, full bathroom cottages with kitchens.
Bear Den RV Resort has become a lovely, super clean, year-round mid-sized rv park that is highly regarded and very in-demand for its extra large, level sites with shade trees and grass.
